Stem education grants

The Department published in spring 2020 two new grant applicant resources. These resources were developed to (1) provide an overview of the discretionary (or competitive) grants application process and (2) offer more details intended to be used by prospective applicants, including new potential grantees. These support one of the Secretary's new administrative priorities on New Potential Grantees that was published in March 2020. Description: Since 2007, the Target Company has donated more than $16 million in grants to the improvement of education. As part of their efforts, Target seeks to expand the parameters of the classroom by providing opportunities for you to fund educational excursions for your classes. Each Target store in the United States will award three Target Field Trip Grants, enabling one in 25 schools throughout the country to send a classroom on a field trip. Funds may be used for transportation, registration for events, admission prices and other field trip expenditures. Have questions? EnCorps, Inc.  will recruit 700 STEM fellows into teaching pathways statewide with a focus on districts with high numbers of disadvantaged students and the greatest demand for secondary math & science teachers, including: Antioch, Oakland, Mt. Diablo, Pittsburg, Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Corona-Norco, Riverside, Elk Grove, Twin Rivers, Fontana, Grossmont, Oceanside, San Diego, San Francisco, Lodi, Stockton, East Side Union & Santa Clara County Office of Education.

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Community Knowledge FundGrants worth between £10k and £100k are available to community groups and organisations around the UK. It is an open fund, meaning they’re interested in what matters to you, and keen to hear what ideas you have to use the knowledge in your communities to address these challenges. Funded by UKRI and delivered by The Young Foundation. Parent Teacher Associations “Research shows how a sense of belonging in rich and rigorous classrooms is directly correlated to students’ long-term academic success. Moreover, the Department’s Civil Rights Data Collection continues to demonstrate that students of color and students with disabilities are disproportionately excluded from learning opportunities in STEM,” said U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Cindy Marten. “Today, we are saying unequivocally to all students and educators that they belong in STEM and that they deserve to have rigorous and relevant educational experiences that inspire and empower them to reach their full potential as productive, contributing members of our nation’s workforce.”
